Preaching from Genesis offers solid, practical, homiletical fare. Greidanus analyzes twenty-three Genesis narratives and presents the rhetorical structures and other tropes of each narrative. He also explores various ways of preaching Christ from each narrative and offers sermons exposition and commentary in oral style.

We formulated the textual theme as, “The sovereign God exalts the prisoner Joseph to ruler of Egypt in order to save the world from famine.” The sermon theme will have to cover the exaltation of Joseph as well as the exaltation of Jesus.
